Check Out What’s on Tap at Wynnefield Library

The local library can be an incredible resource for information, social opportunities, community resources and more—and all will be on display during a number of events at the library near your Royal Athena this summer.

Wynnefield Library, about two miles away, always has a full roster of events for locals of all ages: from kids story times to history lectures for adults and everything in between. To finish out this summer, the library has created a series of events to celebrate the local community and help them tap into their literary creativity. Here’s just a taste of what’s coming our way:

Summer Poetry Slam: At 4 p.m. Aug. 1, adults and teens are invited to share their spoken-word art at a poetry slam. The event is open to all participants, no matter experience or material. Even if you don’t have something to share yourself, attending can be a great way to explore your own interest in poetry and the arts—and maybe it will spark some creativity!

Summer of Wonder Party: The library sends off summer at noon Aug. 2, with free pizza for all patrons. This a great opportunity to get to know the library staff and learn about the venue’s programs and resources—all while enjoying some free food!

Summer of Freedom Tour: Local radio station WURD 96.1 FM will be broadcasting live from the library from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 15 and 20. Stop by to meet radio personalities, see how the radio show is put together and get your chance to walk away with some great prizes.

Just a five-minute drive from your Royal Athena apartment, the Wynnefield Library is a great community resource—so check out the events calendar today and take advantage of all of the exciting opportunities it has to offer!
